My First Blog Post!

Hi everyone and welcome to my very first blog post!  Yay!  For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Jen Borman – a personal trainer, lifestyle coach, and group fitness instructor in Columbus, Ohio and I love, love, love what I do!  I train clients out of my home gym and teach classes at The Butcher Shop Fitness and System of Strength (check out my calendar to see where and when I am teaching).

IMG_9434I moved to Columbus in 2005 and fell in love with the city almost immediately.  It just felt right.  It felt different – like no other city that I had ever been to.  There was so much love and support for local businesses and I really dug that.  I could feel the passion that Columbus had and how everyone only wanted to make it better.  So much has changed over the past few years.  Every time I’m in the Short North I discover a new shop or restaurant and the  fitness scene is blowing up, which makes me SO HAPPY.  There are so many options to get your burn on in Columbus. I am so proud of my city and happy to call it home for the past 9 years.

This blog will be a platform to illustrate my career as a fitness professional, but also serve as a lens into my every day life.  My dedication to my job isn’t limited to the confines of my studio or the workout classes that I teach – it’s a lifestyle.  As you would guess, much of the content here will focused around health and fitness – from providing tips to demonstrating new moves or trying out new gear (totally obsessed with Sweaty Betty right now) – but it’s just one part of the much bigger picture.  So whether this takes me to the North Market picking up some artisan goodies, working out at Barry’s Bootcamp in NYC, sipping a fresh juice at Native Cold Pressed (currently having a love affair with the Zinger), or spending hours in the supplement isle at Whole Foods (post to come on my experiences with aloe and bee pollen, shortly) I want you here for the ride.

Experimenting in the kitchen, coffee shops, music, and traveling are other passions of mine, and I’ll chronicle my adventures in this blog.  I love fashion, making people laugh, sushi, and high top knot buns.

I practice what I preach, and I hope to inspire each and every one of you – be it at one of my workout classes, in the kitchen, or on this site.

I  hope you come back to visit from time to time.

      Being a client of yours for almost 5 months, has changed me physically and mentally! And I’m so proud to call you both my trainer and my friend! This website is so amazing and I look forward to it being my newest addiction. Thank you so much for changing my life! Xo

    Jen,

    I am so proud of you! You know what you want in life and you achieve it. Not too many people can say they love what they do. You make us work hard, striving to be our best.
    You are a great role model for a healthy, fit lifestyle.
    I am so lucky to have you as a daughter! Spending time with you means so much to me!
    Plus I get such great workouts and clean eating when we are together!
